Facebook is the new AOL ⇢

Jason Kottke made the same statement I’ve been shouting recently, back in 2007: “Facebook is the new AOL”.

However, he did not suggest that social primitives would be built into our future operating environments. He simply stated that the Internet is richer than an app can ever be, so he definitively had one side of my argument down way back when.
